Not my first post

So I was waiting to finish some work before getting started on this blog, and I had a proper introductory post planned. But I just have to get this off my chest.

I live in downtown Toronto. Right now there's a face off between police and protestors/onlookers. After a couple of police cars were set on fire on Queen St. West, the police moved in in force. And now a bunch of people are chanting "Whose streets? Our streets!" And it's like, there was arson. And taunting the police. They're just being antagonistic towards the police for the sake of it, without any point to it, without any cause. They aren't speaking truth to power, they're just being assholes to people trying to do their jobs and prevent further damage to property.

I'm pissed off.

And I'm pissed off at Harper for having the conference in downtown Toronto. Because of course this would happen. Anarchists always show up at these things. Businesses have been vandalized, the hospital district is closed down. They could have had the conference at the CNE, but no, the feds couldn't consult with local authorities. I'm really angry about the whole affair.

  1. Yes, I was coming home on the subway going south with a crowd of protesters all talking loudly and excitedly. Two men were with several young boys and one man manically repeated his grievances over and over and over. Actually warning bells went off and I suspected these two men were pedophiles. Another man directly in front of me was talking on his cell phone in a highly agitated voice. So the crowds protesting though many legitimate were also made up of bona fide crackpots. The police at Yonge Street station were hyper as if they individually were responsible for the lives of the world leaders. Mind you their superior no doubt set the tone for their attitude.

I would prefer if you don't post as "Anonymous". You don't have to sign in to comment, so just pick a name and stick with it. Just so that I can have a better idea of who's commenting. Thanks!
